- 2020 Education
Personal development and international networking for young people.
We run personal development and leadership programmes for young people aged 14-25, plus a range of other services across the education sector. Momentum is a founding partner of the 2020 Education initiative.
Young people who take part in Momentum’s programmes see the world differently. They learn new skills, discover hidden talents, and have a story to tell. Through our international network they appreciate other cultures and find creative opportunities. Their positive and enterprising attitude impresses teachers and employers. They have the curiosity and motivation to shape the future.
It was a real privilege to work with the Momentum team. You are fantastic people and your passion and commitment to our children and young people are humbling. It is great to work with people who have sky-high expectations.
- Nick Whittaker, Headteacher, Kelford and Hilltop Schools, UK
“I’ve been inspired to think bigger and aim higher because of the way Momentum has allowed me to believe in myself. They said it would be life changing and even 4 years on I can say it truly was, keep up the amazing work, keep changing lives for the better” – Sarah, Maltby Academy

2020 EDUCATION THE BIG IDEA
The Big Idea: Education from the bottom up...
2020 Education is a school-based initiative empowering young people aged 11-18 to articulate the challenges and opportunities for the world in 2020 and their own practical solutions, using film and social media. The aim is to engage pupils in thinking – and taking action – about major issues such as conservation, extremism, and fair trade. The best ideas, chosen by the students themselves, are then shared globally using film and social media. The project was initially proposed by Andrew Hadley who pulled a group of Fellows together to work on the project.
